New Construction Turned Rental
I think there may have been a thread about this recently but I can't seem to find it. Can anyone point me to the link, or tell me about the new buildings that have cropped up in Park Slope that have turned into rentals? Any leads would be appreciated...Thanks!

'turned into rentals' is probably open to interpretation.
There are certainly new construction bldgs that are rentals but probably always intended to be rental. And any condo owner whether sponsor or individual owner can always rent out units while others are owner occupied. So seeing an apt for rent in a condo building is no indication it has 'gone rental'.

so search in streeteasy for condos -- and then see if there are any rentals in the buildings..

Oh, and I saw the 2 bedroom rentals at The Elan (1st street btwn 4th and 5th). Think they were $2800 or so. Not sure if they've all been rented yet or not.
My take:
Too small for a family but might be nice for a couple or single person.
The kitchen is tricked out with all the most expensive appliances, but there isn't enough space in the living/dining area to have a decent sized dining room table.
The bathrooms were likewise very nice (2 full baths, soaking tub in each), but I had to question why they didn't go with 1.5 baths and have a little extra space for the living/dining area.
Master bedroom was decent sized. Second bedroom was small but not tiny.
There is a hook up to put in a washer/dryer.
Not bad for the price.

thanks north slope renter! that link is what i was looking for! though i thought there were more in the park slope area/fourth ave.
bh - i'll try that and see, thanks for the suggestion.
petebklyn - i mean new construction that was intended for sale, but wasn't selling enough so they began renting out some of the units.
thanks again everyone for your comments.

If you are looking for rentals in Park Slope, you might want to check out the new site www.nakedapartments.com -- inspite of the salacious name, you create a profile and brokers send you offers. Let's you relax a bit. There are a bunch of park slope hunters on there and brokers. Could be helpful in your search to live in Park Slope.

Is there anything like that website for buyers?

Naked apartments.com while a great concept is absurd in its inventory.

Prodigal_Son -- they're working on it! I believe it launched about 3 weeks ago. Any ideas for getting listings on there? I think they want to blow up and are currently pounding the pavement with brokers to get listings on there.
