Window restoration help needed
I want to replace the old sash weights on my old windows to retractable spring balances...Has anyone out there done this? If so, who did the work for you?

Don't do it!
The spring balances break way too frequently.

srsly don't especially if they are large windows where they may have to double up on the springs. nothing but trouble.
