Slate Supplier/Fabricator?
Anyone know a good an not too expensive place to get a piece of slate cut for the hearth space in front of a fireplace?

Try Foro on 3rd Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenues. For a piece as small as a hearth, you should get a good price by using a slate scrap/remnant from their yard.

Ive had much luck with a guy in staten island who is on victory boulevard up near the DMV . Its called Milano Marble & Granite. They have the wet saw and despite the toll their prices were great so i have used them anytime ive needed stone
