Looking to Buy
Hi,
I was looking for some advice on several areas in Brooklyn. I have been looking for condos in Prospect Heights, Fort Greene, Greenpoint, Clinton Hill, and Williamsburg.
What are the demographics of these areas. I am a professional in my mid-20's and would like to be surrounded by people in a similar position. Also, what areas offer the best transportation and shortest commute to the city?
Finally, within these neighborhoods, what areas are most desirable? For example, I have read that north of Grand Street in Wiliamsburg is the more developed and desirable area.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

All of these areas a crawling with young professionals. Are you really asking about young white professionals (sorry to be blunt), in which case you might want to contain a search to the Williamsburg area, which in my experience has an unusual lack of diversity in the "gentrified" sections, northside (metropolitan to the mccarren park).
Greenpoint is very white/polish with some latina mixed in, as well as a growing hipster population. Its basically situated on many superfund sites, i wouldn't buy there.
As to the rest of your questions.. I would suggest that you spend an afternoon walking around each area to get a feel for the flavor of the 'hood. Transportation, you can get from google maps or hopstop. I think technically B'burg is closest commute to city, but the L train is disgusting and consistently overcrowded.
