Just finishing a 5 story gut renovation of a clinton hill browstone (see attached pic). This is the first job I've GC'd on, and finding the right crew proved to be one of the biggest challenges, so I wanted to pass on recommendations for the team of guys who made the project happen. Send me an email if you have any questions about the specifics of each contractor's work at eli (at) turner-engineering(dot)com

Thanks!

I love the walls. I can't figure out from the photo if that's concrete or weathered wood?

It's board-formed poured concrete(i.e the forms were made out of rough sawn 1x6s instead of plywood panels). With board forms, you get nice horizontal lines along the seams between each of the boards and the knots and grain of the board are impressed on the concrete.

Interesting. Gotta experiment with this. My husband will be cursing you, but thanks for the tip! :)

I also used Manny for several tiles jobs and was very pleased with his work.

What type of AC system did you install??

Posted by: daveinbedstuy at August 4, 2009 8:36 AM

Hi dave,

I used the Mitsubishi split ductless system - one condenser with 4 air handlers for the upper unit, a second condenser with 3 air handlers for the bottom. Very pleased with it thusfar.

Posted by: ejfernald at August 4, 2009 10:34 AM

Can I ask how much that ran you??? How good are they at hiding the feeds to the air handlers??

Who was your electrician, and would you recommend the electrician you used?

Thanks

Hey where'd you get that backyard fencing? I'm looking for the same for mine. Thanks

Posted by: pickles at August 4, 2009 4:53 PM

The fence was built by hand - 4x4 posts with simpson post bases, cedar 1x8's cut down to 1x3's and face-screwed into the posts. Not all that difficult, but a little time consuming.
