Cadman Plaza North?
Hi, we're newish to Brownstoner, been lurking for a while to get a feel for Brooklyn. We put our names on the list for Cadman Plaza North years ago and forgot about it...now our #s up. What is that area like? Does anyone know anything about this development? Is there a way to find out more about it? Hubs and I put our names down when we were still new to the city but never lived in Brooklyn. Thanks.

It's a great area- you'll be in the North Heights. Subway is there, lots of shops and restaurants. Go for it!

I'm personally not a fan of the high rise buildings around the Cadman Plaza area, but if you can get into the neighborhood for a reasonable price, I say go for it.
If you have kids, the public school (P.S. 8) is great.
Subways are good. You're right by the A/C; close to the 2/3; and not far from the 4/5, R and F.
You're a short walk to DUMBO and steps from Clark Street, with some shops and restaurants. Montague Street, another Brooklyn Heights commercial hub, isn't far, and Atlantic Avenue is easily accessible too.

I'm assuming that your # came up is that is MitchellLama building and income qualifies you. And if your income qualifies you and get to live in this neighborhood for probably really cheap...you'd be an ass not to take it.

Good luck. I was called a few months ago, but my income no longer met the guidelines. I would have loved to live in Brooklyn Heights. Great area for restaurants, shopping, transportation, etc.

Are you sure you wouldn't rather buy the house on Clinton Street for 2.9 million?
