Wanted: Tree stumps
I realize this is an odd request but I need a few tree stumps to use for a project. Anywhere from 12 to 24 inches in diameter and in solid condition (not rotted or infested).
Anyone know where I might find these?

A tree was just chopped down by the little park where Hamilton Ave meets Van Brunt - beautiful big stump sections, if you can pick them up.

You may also want to contact local arborists. I'm guessing their clients might be happy to donate a stump or two.

You could check here: http://www.drynature.com/ it's a store in manhattan that sells wood poles, stumps, bark veneers, etc.

I always see logs like this alongside the streets in Long Island City. Try driving Vernon boulevard up and down (like from Pulaski bridge to Costco) twice a week for a few weeks. You should get all the logs you need.
What are you doing with them?

There is a nice stump on the curb in front of 378 State St.(between Hoyt and Bond) It was put out this morning and is yours for the taking.

Hi,
Call a tree service. They give away stumps and logs all of the time. I got a a nice cherry wood stump from them and I used it in my backyard. Tree Guys...888-tree-guys
