Upholstery Recommendations

Does anyone have an upholsterer to suggest? Not just for re-covering but doing some refurbishment of springs.

Fritsch Custom Upholstering on 5th Avenue in Bay Ridge. They have been in the neighborhood a long time and have an excellent reputation. 718-748-9666.

I help my clients pick the fabric and have my workshop do the work. Recovering is just replacing the fabric. Reupholstering is new padding which can include springs, etc. The work is perfect and meticulous. If you would like to ask any questions, please feel free to contact me: jane@janeinteriorsnyc.com.

where ever you go, avoid beckenstein fabric and interiors in manhattan.

see my above post.

am stuck with a sofa that smells, and it was the worst consumer experience
i've ever had.

Highly recommend Atlantis in Red Hook.

They recovered a vintage daybed for me, remade the spring support with fabric webbing and refinished the dull wood for no extra charge. Beatrice is really nice, too.

frabjousday,

I just looked up Atlantis ans they seem great. I have a Knoll chair (not really vintage as it is from the 80's)that needs recovering. Were they helpful in picking out/supplying fabric? Also, do you mind telling me the final price of your job?

Thanks.
