I'd highly recommend Vinnie at Supercharged 718-981-7173.

You might try a search on the forum history - this question has been answered at least a half-dozen times. If you read the comments, you'll find lots of other recs.

I like Supercharged too.

Don't use christopher john.
They charge for an estimate and hit you with an enormous amount of money to do the work. The owner lives in great neck which explains the ridiculously high amount of money.
Fancy lifestyle, fancy prices!

I just had Christopher John come and give us an estimate for electrical work on Monday. They were actually the cheapest quote of the 4 people I have spoken to.

I haven't actually got them to do the work yet, but the guy was really very nice, very professional, answered all my questions (there were a lot) and actually gave me an itemized quote on the spot (which is handy - I wanted other stuff done, but I have a budget, so it's good to know what everything costs individually to see what you can do without).

As I said - haven't had the work done yet. But so far I'm pleased with them.

^^^------ Suspicious. A negative review quickly followed-up by someone else claiming by a "...very nice, very professional..." electrician!

Smells like Chris John has multiple Brownstoner accounts and is giving himself "glowing" reviews. As Rachel Maddow would say, "...you're dating yourself".

I recommend R. Williams from It's Electric. Professional, neat, well priced. Has done complete rewiring in my home. Tell him Chris from Decatur street referred you.
Good luck.

JW Electric did a fantastic job upgrading my electrical service and breaker panel for me. Joseph was knowledgeable and efficient. He sent a big crew of very professional guys and knocked out the job in less time than he estimated. He was also 25% less than the next cheapest bid (I got 4).

WCK Electric in Bed-Stuy did the work at my house and I was happy with the price, the guys who executed the work, the follow through, etc.

Reginald Lowe of Morray Electric is phenomenal! I bought a very decrepit house in Clinton Hill three years ago which Reggie completely rewired. He did beautiful work and everything is operating flawlessly three years later. He also substantially rewired a rental building I own. His business was created by his dad more than 50 years ago, I think, and he and his brother work in it actively. He is very knowledgeable about all kinds of fixtures and applications and prices fairly. He also happens to be a great communicator and has a lovely personality!! He may be reached at lytesout@netzero.net or in his office at 718/495-2821. I still use him for small jobs and have recommended him to several friends who also thought he was great.

Thanks for all the recommendations. Any of these guys not mind a bit of fishing, leaving as small holes as possible, if you're not doing a gut?

Also, whaddya estimate it costs to rewire a place (three floors) and put in a new breaker box? I don't know how many points, but figure three for most rooms is standard.

Oh! And the question I have always wanted to ask: Can you run a few new lines and not upgrade every wire? I suppose so, since practically every house I see seems to have done this. Not sure if it's safe, however.

I am not a fake person! Click on my name, look at all my posts over a reasonable time frame, about lots of random things. Isn't that the best way to find out if someone is just posing?
