Brownstone staircase repair
We are specifically looking for someone who can repair the existing staircases in our Brownstone in Parkslope from underneath the stairs as we want to maintain the overall look of the aged wood blending in with the wood floors in our house.

High-Tech Construction Co. are the Brownstone specialists. They did an exquiste job repairing my brownstone steps this past summer. I would advise you to call them at 1347-792-1266. I got a great deal after hassles with many contractors.

colorconsult: Not clear -- are you talking about the outside stoop stairs? Or the inside staircases? If latter, what's the problem -- do they creak too much? Or is it more serious? Also, if inside, I think you need a good carpenter who can open up the stairs from the back (probably remove plaster) and fix the creaks (or whatever) from there.

What needs to be repaired?
Is it slope, pull away from wall, or separations?
Or balusters, molding, trim?

Normally, it is necessary to diagnose what caused the condition you are trying to remediate, then choosing the best compromise to fix it. It often turns out to be something simple, yet the repairs in an "antique" house can be involved.
