Ticks in Brooklyn?
I just found a tick on our rug that leads in from the back yard...still alive. Found one on dog a few weeks ago. We have grass and plants and flower in the back yard. Is it possible to have ticks in a Brooklyn backyard??? Definitely not the very small deer ticks, but annoying nonetheless.

Yes, there are definitely ticks in Bklyn. My vet says to use Frontline - expensive but worth it.

Deer tick?? Years ago my dog got lyme disease when we hadn't been out of the city for 8 months. My guess was that the tick must've fallen off another dog in the park. I couldn't figure out how else it would have happened.

There are tons of ticks in Brooklyn. My dog used to get them from the park... some years were worse than others. Frontline is a really, really good idea.

Just because they call them deer tics doesn't mean that they aren't carried by squirrels, etc.

grass= mosquitos, no-seems, ticks, waterbills, pesticides and Ticks. Get rid os the grass with alternate plantings ie chamomile, wild thyme or better yet cedar mul and you will get rid of all the above and do the earth a favor.
