Good - but cheap - Inspector?
Can anyone recommend a good, but relatively cheap, inspector? I'm hoping not to spend too much money and rates I'm hearing are running around $500. Anyone have experience with an inspector who did a good job with a going rate less than $500?

$500 sounds appropriate and what I paid in 2004.
as has been said many times on this site, the inspection is one of the most crucial aspects of the purchase. I wouldn't go cheap on it. the money you save now, will be nothing compared to what you spend on key repairs they may overlook.....
