Art Salt, to give you an idea, here is a pic of all of us from the last gathering:
Posted by: Biff Champion at June 17, 2009 10:49 AM
Art, I can confirm. Biff is in the middle and DIBS is a to the left of him. Rob is on the far left. Rest are on the right.
Posted by: Kensingtonian at June 17, 2009 11:36 AM
Kens, are you going to make it tonight? Check out the Restaurant of the Day Today. I thought you might be familiar with it.
Posted by: Biff Champion at June 17, 2009 12:19 PM
Flight comes in at 8 so by the time I catch a cab to home and jump in my car, it would be like 9:30 so I am not sure I want to do that.
Posted by: Kensingtonian at June 17, 2009 1:29 PM
Not sure if I can make it. Have a lot on the plate. Will try to stop by.
Posted by: Adam Dahill at June 17, 2009 1:36 PM
I wish I could come. Hopefully I'll be at the next. Have fun!
Posted by: lisa at June 17, 2009 2:18 PM
I plan to stop by. I hope my generally bearish tone doesn't make me persona non grata.
Posted by: lechacal at June 17, 2009 3:10 PM
Adam, hope you make it.
Lisa, I wish you could too.
Lechacal, you're always welcome and we look forward to seeing you. We might just need a referee between you and DIBS. And no hatchets allowed.
Posted by: Biff Champion at June 17, 2009 3:17 PM
Good heavens, is this only on the G train? I know this is a Brooklyn blog, but isn't that taking things too far?
Posted by: mopar at June 17, 2009 3:37 PM
LOL, I think it was the amount of alcohol last time.
Biff's going to impersonate Gene Rayburn and organize a version of Family Feud between Team Bull and Team Bear
Posted by: daveinbedstuy at June 17, 2009 3:38 PM
Thanks for the photo...now I want to hear you squeal like a pig.
Posted by: Art Salt at June 17, 2009 3:38 PM
i did even know there was a g train :( im gonna take a taxi or hitch (i hitched in a convertible with a mom and daughter to the flea a month ago) so much fun and such nice people they were to take my sorry ass in their car! youd be shocked how hitch hiker friendly brooklyn really is til u try/

"You got perty lips, Art Salt"
Posted by: daveinbedstuy at June 17, 2009 3:42 PM
Actually, that's a computer-enhanced photo of what the hipsters on drugs in Williamsburg will look like in ten years.
Posted by: mopar at June 17, 2009 3:45 PM
Rob, it was great at the last gathering when you thought it was more safe to hitch than ride with Kensingtonian.
Posted by: jessibaby at June 17, 2009 3:46 PM
Kens, that's ME on the right with my hands in my bib! ; )
Posted by: cobblehiller at June 17, 2009 3:52 PM

Posted by: PitbullNYC at June 17, 2009 3:54 PM
I have fantasies of what could happen to me if I got in the "wrong" car.
Posted by: daveinbedstuy at June 17, 2009 3:58 PM
I'm ready! Had a hearty lunch which will provide a good base, i showered this morning and i'm drinking coffee now so i won't be sleepy.
Posted by: dirty_hipster at June 17, 2009 4:01 PM
Rob, all I can say is. ARRGGHHH! You're even driving me crazy today!!
Posted by: cobblehiller at June 17, 2009 4:01 PM
Dave, I'm sure cornerbodega does, too.
Posted by: jessibaby at June 17, 2009 4:01 PM
"i showered this morning"
Once again, dirty hipster will not live up (down?) to his name.

The question is "Did you wipe your ass?"
Posted by: daveinbedstuy at June 17, 2009 4:05 PM
And I've got my tshirt all ready:

Posted by: Biff Champion at June 17, 2009 4:05 PM
Rob, if you don't want to cab it, take a train to Atlantic Terminal, walk 2 blocks to the G, and take it 1 stop to Classon/Washington stop.
The G! Carroll Gardens Express!!! :) I fully approve, though how long are those stinkin blocks? I'm going to be hurting tomorrow.
Posted by: CG_ups at June 17, 2009 4:05 PM
What lurks behind the blue curtain...
Posted by: Biff Champion at June 17, 2009 4:08 PM
haha dave!! no way - TP is bad for the environment!! ;)
god - you guys are complaining about walking a few measly blocks up one of the prettiest blocks in the city!! I'll be walking out of my way so I can walk the whole length of clinton!!
Posted by: dirty_hipster at June 17, 2009 4:10 PM
DH, I had bok choy and chow fun for lunch. I figured that should provide a solid base. On the other hand, Asians, especially the ones in my family, aren't exactly known for their high alcohol tolerance.
Posted by: Biff Champion at June 17, 2009 4:12 PM
I agree, dh.....there's a lot of nice houses right around there. I might walk up one block and down another before I arrive.
These are short walks from either of the C train stops. What a bunch of Pathetic Loser Usual Suspect Asshat Whiners (PLUSAW)
Posted by: daveinbedstuy at June 17, 2009 4:13 PM
DH, what was the block you, me, sixyears, Amzi and DeLepp walked up that was so beautiful? Was it Clinton? We should advise everyone to take that route to observe the gorgeous homes on their way to the venue.
Posted by: Biff Champion at June 17, 2009 4:13 PM
Yeah - it was clinton Biff. I'm planning on walking over on Dekalb from flatbush, then cutting down vanderbilt, walking down to fulton and all the way back up ;)
haha dave - i'm surprised you won't be carried to the bar on a throne by a bunch of well oiled, buff asian and hispanic men ;)
Posted by: dirty_hipster at June 17, 2009 4:19 PM
haha biff - correct me if i'm wrong fellow asians, but there must be something in alcohol that asians can't process properly. i know more then a few that get beet red and HAMMERED after one beer.
Posted by: dirty_hipster at June 17, 2009 4:20 PM
don't know why wrote "fellow asians" as i'm not
Posted by: dirty_hipster at June 17, 2009 4:21 PM
dh, that would be called a "Sedan Chair."
Posted by: daveinbedstuy at June 17, 2009 4:23 PM
They should walk up Clinton to see the mansions. The Pratt mansions are between DeKalb and Willoughby on both sides of the street. They are now part of St Joes College.
Posted by: DeLepp at June 17, 2009 4:23 PM
DH, obviously that was a typo and you meant to say "yellow asians". There you go race baiting once again! :-)
Posted by: Biff Champion at June 17, 2009 4:23 PM
DH i close my eyes when i walk around around brownstone brooklyn. look at the ground instead cuz u find stuff that ay. so no 20 block scenic walk to a bar meet up for me. or ill wind up showing up with 20 bags of people's garbage :0/
ok im gonna for real go shower right now
*rob*
Posted by: PitbullNYC at June 17, 2009 4:24 PM
"dh, that would be called a "Sedan Chair."
haha Dave - my mistake!! for the record i've always wanted to be carried around in one of those in NYC.
"DH, obviously that was a typo and you meant to say "yellow asians". There you go race baiting once again! :-)"
I'm awful!! Good thing the chicken is out of the country - he would definitely muay thai kick me in the teeth for that one
Posted by: dirty_hipster at June 17, 2009 4:27 PM
Thanks DeLepp.
Posted by: Biff Champion at June 17, 2009 4:28 PM
For anyone still reading who is planning on attending, please tell the bartender (Paul) you are with Brownstoner and you will get a discount on your drinks.
Posted by: Biff Champion at June 17, 2009 4:33 PM
Will there be more than one bartender, Biff? This seems to be one of the bigger problems of the evening.
Posted by: daveinbedstuy at June 17, 2009 4:36 PM
DIBS, not sure. They are well aware that we might have 30+ folks with our group and I was assured it won't be a problem at all to accomodate us space-wise and drinks-wise.
Posted by: Biff Champion at June 17, 2009 4:41 PM
i read in another thread biff mention if you are over 65 they have senoir citizen discount! *dons long grey wig*
*rob*
Posted by: PitbullNYC at June 17, 2009 4:48 PM
Rob, that wasn't me; it was someone else jokingly responding to Arkady, after she commented on her own age. No blue light (or blue hair) specials at Rope, as far as I'm aware.
Posted by: Biff Champion at June 17, 2009 4:54 PM
im sure dave will find a blue light special here or there. but not drinks!
*rob*
Posted by: PitbullNYC at June 17, 2009 4:56 PM
I'm sure there will only be one bartender, and it should be sufficient. 30:1 isn't a bad patron to bartender ratio.
Posted by: dirty_hipster at June 17, 2009 4:58 PM
Hey, has it yet been confirmed Amzi is coming?
Posted by: more4less at June 17, 2009 5:01 PM
DH, the 30+ is just us. Presumably there will be some non-Brownstoners at the bar too (they'll be the ones who look like winners with lives).
Posted by: Biff Champion at June 17, 2009 5:02 PM
Biff, do they serve food?
Posted by: daveinbedstuy at June 17, 2009 5:02 PM
M4L, Amzi has been at the other big ones.
I think he'll show.
I'm off soon. See y'all there.
Posted by: Biff Champion at June 17, 2009 5:03 PM
DIBS, you can get the bad Thai food across the street
Posted by: more4less at June 17, 2009 5:03 PM
Amzi said "yes" on the HOTD thread
Posted by: daveinbedstuy at June 17, 2009 5:04 PM
How are the waiters there, m4l??
BTW, are you coming???
Posted by: daveinbedstuy at June 17, 2009 5:04 PM
DIBS, no, but you can bring food in if you want.
Also confirmed there will be two bartenders tonight. They are really nice there. I think it'll be lots of fun.
Posted by: Biff Champion at June 17, 2009 5:06 PM
DIBS, waiters are not to your liking - think they're all ladies.
will certainly try to show up but probably a little late.
Posted by: more4less at June 17, 2009 5:08 PM
haha Biff - i would imagine there couldn't be TOO many more people there. Pratt is out for the summer and it is a Wednesday night!!
The bartender must be thrilled - he will make at least an extra 100 bucks tonight thanks to us - which is a fortune on Wednesdays.
Posted by: dirty_hipster at June 17, 2009 5:08 PM
Just one more question. Will there be go-go dancers on the bar?
Posted by: daveinbedstuy at June 17, 2009 5:08 PM
headed out
*rob*
ps if i dont make it, it means i hitched intead of finding a cab and im stuck in some fedder's building ground floor rental boiler room tied to the boiler or something.
Posted by: PitbullNYC at June 17, 2009 5:13 PM
And probably wearing the gimp mask.
Posted by: daveinbedstuy at June 17, 2009 5:19 PM
Hoist one up for me...
Posted by: Boerumresident at June 17, 2009 5:23 PM
Still stuck at work and very little prospect of getting out any time soon..... crapola.
Posted by: lechacal at June 17, 2009 9:12 PM
Well it's past midnight midnight and it looks like I'm still at work for another few hours at least. Wish I could have stopped by to say hello. Anyone up for a consolation drink at Union Hall sometime soon?
Posted by: lechacal at June 18, 2009 12:04 AM
I don't suppose anyone is still there...
