Cheap Moving Supplies?

Anyone have any recs for getting cheap moving supplies (boxes, tape, etc.?) Thanks!!

Costco, HD, Lowe's all sell large, stackable plastic storage containers suitable for moving so you're not just buying and discarding. Always plenty of Fresh Direct boxes at curbside, and good boxes at liquor stores. Cornell Paper & Box in Red Hook sells cartons in bulk. So do stores like Staples, etc.

Freecycle always has people listing moving boxes that they've just used to move and would rather give away for reuse than recycle.

You can also look on the curb on recycling night in your neighborhood: Jule 1 is a HUGE move date, and I assume people are still putting out boxes that they used in the move. People tend to flatten them and tie 'em with twine.

Liquor stores are great for books because they're strong boxes of a smaller size.

Craigslist always has listings for free moving boxes....
that means you recycle ones that somebody used before, and that is great. Plastic containers are nice but there is way more plastic in the world than the environment can handle....

If you insist on buying new boxes, U Line has every size imaginable, in several thicknesses. Unless you are getting enormous sizes, they ship everything via UPS. They also have tape, packing peanuts, paper, etc.

Some moving companies reuse boxes & will supply them too.

Costco has "moving kits" that contain boxes (of different sizes), packing tape, markers, and foam padding for dishes/glasses.
