Advice/Price for Concrete Remove
We have a brownstone in Bed-Stuy, and would like to remove most of the front rectangle of concrete (leaving a path to get to the door under the stoop, and to the bulkhead in front of the house. Basically, we want to have a front garden similar to the ones you see in front of lots of houses in the neighborhood. What's a reasonable price to remove the concrete? Do I also need to have topsoil delivered? Price for the whole job? Any recommendations for people to do this? Thanks!

I'd get professional advice if I were you. A neighbor of mine had similar work done & it messed up drainage to her basement. You might have to dig fairly deep & put in what's called a "soak-away" or French drain - a perforated pipe & progressively smaller rocks & pebbles up to a level where you want to add the dirt - using landscape fabric as well.

I had this done...they used a concrete saw and had to cut down about 6 inches...and add topsoil. Looks great. Chuck at "Dig" on Atlantic Ave did it. It was part of a much bigger yard project so I don't know if he would do something this small or how much it would cost.
