Tenants in Common

Anyone know a lawyer versed in TIC? Or have a story to share?

fwiw, I made an appt with a BH lawyer who I'll identify as ZS; after waiting over an hour at the appointed time, I left, and she did not even call me to apologize or reschedule.

Try Donald Fraser. He's in Brooklyn Heights, on Joralemon in the Medical Arts building.

He's a real estate attorney so I'm sure he can help out. Great guy, no nonsense, been in the neighborhood for decades...

Try Zerline Goodman in Brooklyn Heights. She has handled many TIC and so has a number of boiler plate agreements from which you can get started. If she is the lawyer that kept you waiting, there must have been some sort of a mix up. That sounds very unlike her. She's a pleasure to work with and always very responsive. Good luck! I'm curious, do you currently have a partner? My husband and I were fairly far along in a process of doing this, but our current partner can't sell her place and we're reassessing what to do. If you are looking for partners, we might be interested.

Thanks both; lucybb: I will give her a II chance. She came well recommended, maybe it was a simple mix-up.

Yes, I have a partner (couple) who will share my current 1+3 reconfigured as a 2+2 if I can get my (tbx)-wife to agree (she thinks we cannot value the house correctly in this climate.) Apparently she thinks comps are not accurate enough. I look forward to this as I am tired of carrying a triplex for me and a 1/2-time son. If anything changes, I might email you.

Follow up: had very nice conversation with lawyer, just an understandable mixup.

@lucybb: are you still looking for a partner to form a TIC? Let me know at korneel at earthlink dot net. Thanks!
