How beautiful the stoop is NOw!!
It's really really good to have a new brownstone stoop.. I had this old stoop for long time, I was planning to fix it up. I started to find out the people who do brownstone stoop with a good price and a nice job. Then i got a referral from my co-worker, and i call this guy just to take a quote for fixing up the stoop. The guy name is Jewel, he came and he suggest me to do the whole stoop rather fixing up necessary cracks. I had a doubt in my mind that how much he will charged for doing the whole stoop, but he really give me a good price. Then i had another doubt that he really can do it with this price? Does he know how to do it? But he really surprised me, after his work i must say that this guy is a professional brownstone stoop maker. My stoop looks so nice now, and i want it ,as it is right now, for 100 years. anyway thanks to jewel and i recommend him to all of you guys as a professional brownstone stoop maker. This is his phone no. 917-531-7755. i am happy to share my experience with guys. Thanks to Brownstoner.

Where's the "before" picture?

Did he provide the railing? if so looks really good - would be better if you uploaded a before shot though so we can actually see the difference.

What was the total cost?

Wow, Jewel does stoops and bathrooms (see post above re: bathroom contractor referral, by Roniki_007). Roksandi, how about contact information for you, so we can see work in person?

Looks like a great job. Time will tell though.

Still looks like an enterence to a tomb to me.

Notice that "roksandi"never actually says that "Jewel" repaired the stoop in the photograph.

parkslopemom"
It's usually safe to assume that when someone says "but he really gave me a good price" that they dont want to say up front how much they paid. i'm always so surprised by how blunt people are with asking how much they paid for something.... always thought it was a little tacky

Folks, geez, read between the lines, and check "Roksandi's" bio/previous posts. Smart money says "Roksandi" and "Jewel" are one and the same, or blood relatives. Is that a photo of "Roksandi's" stoop, or a stoop repaired by someone entirely different, attached to a building other than the one "Roksandi" owns? Obviously, my comment and Bob Marvin's were too oblique. Advertmoron, before lecturing others on what's safe to assume, try reading the original post again and checking your own assumptions.

Personally I think this is a well done stoop. One of the best I have seen. This critism I'd say that is creating such a uproar is quite unnecessary. This Jewel guy did a good job and if I would get a stoop like that I would recommend this guy as well. After all isn't brownstoner a site for recommending and promoting skilled contractors? This stoop is well done and I would give this guy a call for my next project.
