I am in need of hardwood floor for my brownstones but I totally hate laminates and love solid hardwood but I want hardwoods that are affordable any suggestions??

Thanks

Depends on how practical you are. A hardwood floor that you lay yourself will not cost much more than a laminate floor that you get someone else to lay.

Also, are you looking to replace/cover each floor of the house or just one floor/section as that's obviously going to massively affect the total cost.

I guess it depends on what you consider "affordable" but these prices look pretty reasonable compared to what I paid in London.

No comment on quality or service, just the first google hit.

Um, I don't know if it's affordable, but Moon River Chattel in Williamsburg has reclaimed recycled old floor boards in a variety of woods and widths for about $11 per unit (can't remember if it's foot, square foot, or yard). it's very attractive. They also know installers.

I saw this. I have no proof of quality.

is this to lay over an existing floor/sub-floor or over joists?
I know that the 5/16" parquet or strips are not that expensive if you're laying over a floor.
I recommend that you go to Verazaano flooring and talk to Dave.

I have 2000 Sq. Ft. left of 4" white oak 3/4 solid hardwood (Select and Better - grade)on one of my sites in Bed Stuy.
The floor is installed so you can see how it comes out (Sanded and sealed - no stain). I can sell for 2.25 a Sq. Ft.

If you want to see email me at offir@ktrconstruction.us.
