Seeking Lawnmower Sharpener
We have a pushmower with dull blades. Does anyone have a recommendation for where we could take it to get it sharpened? thanks

I have a '20s oak & cast iron model, that I bought at Salvation Army in 1970 (for our first garden apartment). About 20 years ago I had it sharpened and adjusted by one of the itinerant knife sharpeners you occasionally see driving their trucks around. It hasn't needed any attention since.

I think the guy w/ the truck is DelRay - he's based on Staten Isl. You might try to Google him - someone said there's a schedule posted somewhere.

I have a push mower for my tiny patch of grass in the back garden.
Last summer it wasn't cutting properly, after 3 summers of good service. I thought it needed sharpening so I bought a sharpening kit online.
When I looked a little more closely at the mower it turned out that the blades were still sharp enough, it was just that they had shifted slightly out of optimal cutting position.
I never did end up using the sharpening kit and following a simple adjustment the mower is once again working as expected.
Hope this helps.
