Refinishing brownstone door
I just purchased a brownstone in bed stuy with original double doors. they are in rough shape. Anyone know of someone who can take the doors off site, remove the old paint and refinish them?

not sure how bad your doors are but we had ours done onsite. they were old and needed to be stripped, stained and finished. we hired someone from a local antique shop. unfortunately the store closed. but the point is, there is no need to take them off site, which would probably be more expensive any way.

Try Artistic Wood Crafts -- 646-541-3409. I have had work done by them (not doors, but they do lots of these) and I really like the small company. Very detailed, honest and down to earth.
