recommendation: engineer?

My partner owns a building in Gowanus. We think that the building may have some structural problems. Can anyone recommend a trustworthy, quality engineer who could come and inspect the building. We're looking to spend less than $200 on the inspection.

Quality engineer and $200 just doesn't sounds right.

Finding out if you have structural problems is only worth $200? I don't get it. Is it a sand castle or a favorite tinker toy or something?

I think the going rate is 3 or 4 times the figure you have in mind. But maybe in this economy structural engineers are hungry too.

Good luck!

I've had many inspections over the years and they have all started at $500 and gone up from there. If you are concerned about structure...spend the money! A Structural Engineer willing to work for $200 scares me...good luck!

OK, well apparently I have no idea what good engineers cost. Cost aside, does anyone know a good engineer???

Thanks.

my partner and i are both structural engineers (myself a licensed PE with over 8yrs experience) looking to get into this similar field of practice. we wouldn't mind taking a look, but can't offer any official inspection as of yet. we are, however, offering some of our time and expertise for you to point out and ask any questions of concerns.
give us a ring, we can chat more in details if you're interested merely for a secondary opinion...917-216-3125
