Plumber recommendations wanted
Hey all,
can anyone recommend a reliable, reasonably priced plumbing company to
a) re-plumb and install fixtures in a gutted bathroom and b) replace a main sewer drain in a brownstone basement? And how many estimates do people recommend getting for a job like that? I've got estimates from gateway and aladdin, but I think I want a couple more. Thanks!

Here's a new name: Ed Mule & Son Plumbing and Heating. I had Ed in my place this morning to evaluate a re-plumb on a bathroom renovation. He is also going to do a major job on a top floor bathroom drain and stack. Last fall, he did an oil to gas conversion for me. We have used MPH (Martin Heating and Plumbing) for several years. 718-965-0500. They do excellent work, arrive when they say they will, clean up, are pleasant and I think that their prices are fair.

Strongly recommend Rocco/Plumbing Works. 718-875-6262. Really, I have nothing bad to say. He's a bit gruff but his guys do great work, come when you ask them to/when they say they will, and he charges fair prices. MUCH cheaper than Gateway or Aladdin, and I don't see how I could have gotten better work.
