This is small stuff. I wouldn't be concern about the trim. The molding can be put back in place and a shoe molding could be added to the base molding.

Exactly....like Rick said.
In fact it looks like carpeting was installed previously and that molding was placed 'on top' it.
You could either reinstall the molding or add a strip of shoe molding.
