Granite or Marble ?

I'm doing a double sink bathroom vanity and I don't know which is better. What do you think ?

Marble seems more "bathroomy" but it's hard to say without knowing what the other finishes are.

I'm doing conventional subway tile and hexagonal flooring in white and black.

We found a finish that we loved - it was onyx - we love it.

The point is what do you like?

Ooh, with subway tile and black and white hexagonal tile, marble will be swell.

I vote marble.

Some granites can be very susceptible to standing water, ie
temporarily darken where water sits on them. Not so great for bathroom vanities. Avoid granites w/ "veins".

But marble is susceptible to stains from lots of the solvents in cosmetics & beauty aids. Granite is less likely to stain.

Marble will probably look better, but like Arkady said it will stain if you spill things on it, so needs to be sealed, polished and cleaned with the proper products. It can also be stained from inappropriate cleaning products(bleach, etc), but does look better! In either case, make sure it's sealed!
