Carpenter recommendation
Hello, I'd like to have a shelf unit similar to the attached picture built.
Height:34 1/4"
Width:47 1/2"
Thickness: 10 3/4"
I'd like to have three layers of storage instead of two in the picture.
The inside is painted wenge color and outside will be cream color.
How much does such a small job cost? Who do you recommend? How much does it cost if I paint it myself?
Thank you very much.

Finished- $1750 (real wenge wood interior)
Unfinished- $750
nice design, by the way.

Based on the dimensions you provided and assuming that the finish would be painted, I could fabricate this for you unfinished for $450. I usually outsource finishing to a subcontractor. Please contact me for more information and to see my portfolio.

^^ya, I would go with a local guy who could do it for 450(that's a good price) and paint it yourself.
Paint and brushes would be around $75, I think.

I just posted last week about Gil Holohan. You can find it under "Carpentry" titled "Good Carpenter". He built a beautiful radiator cover for me exactly to my specifications. I'm not sure what he would charge because he did a few other things for me around the house and gave me one price for everything. He did an excellent, clean job and is very reliable and friendly.
Send him an email with that picture and let him know Nadine recommended him.

Hub Moore is a terrific carpenter, and he has a great design sense. He did a ton of work in my house and I'm very happy with all of it. He's also a great guy and wonderful to work with. hub@hubmoore.com
