Buyer's Agent
Can anyone recommend a buyer's agent? Not interested in hearing directly from agents-- just recommendations.

There are none yet. All agents are still on the sellers side because th minute the switch over you are going to see law suits hit the agents for fraud.

Sorry hannible, I don't understand your post. I'm asking for any recommendations from people who had a particularly good realtor when they were buying an apartment.

And I am telling you that there are none, You try asking any realtor fo a price cut? Do you hear the response they give you?

When I first started looking I went to one of his listings I saw on the NYTimes and it wasn't what I wanted. he worked hard setting up meetings to see many other properties and then I gave him my Manhataan apt to sell after I found a Brooklyn place.
Don't pay attention to hannible. He doesn't understand what you're looking for and can't even answer sensibly.
You do understand that the realtor is going to get paid by the seller once you close. Also, not all brokers allow fee splitting so you have to discuss that with him on any potential listings

Yes you can work with a realtor but Brooklyn isn't a real multi-list universe. If you limit yourself to what "your" broker can show you, you will miss out on a lot of what is available. "Your" broker has an incentive to steer you to his own agency's listings and anything where the fee split will be pretty good. Nice to have a relationship, but if you are really shopping, you want to check out the whole market. Just understand that the broker never really works for you.

Georgine Paulin from Corcoran is great. Worked with her on a lot of transactions.
