Baseboards

There's a gap between our baseboards and floorboards. What type of caulk shall I use to fix this?

Do you have quarter round molding down?

why not put on shoe moulding, or quarter round as per dentons rec?..way nicer than caulk...the real question is why is there a separation occurring?

This is what shoe base is for, but if you want to caulk it use siliconized latex. If the gaps are more than 1/4' use a foam backer to fill it first. If the gap is more than 3/8" use shoe base.

Take a look at the attached from Dyles Lumber catalog:

Look at "floor moulding" #101 in the middle of the page. It is real cheap and looks better than a quarter round.

If you are going to stain, do so (and poly) before installing - then touch up cut edges.
