Rental Prices?
I'm looking for a 2 br with either an elevator, or third floor or lower of a walk-up. Any chance I'll find something decent (need room for two adults and a baby) for 2K in Prospect Heights or Windsor Terrace? Anywhere other than Craigslist that I should look?

Absolutely. I looked at a great 2-bedroom in Windsor Terrace for $1850, and that was in August. In this market, you should have no problem. Besides Craigslist, hound your friends and co-workers. That's how I saw the place I did. Someone I knew was moving out and put me in touch with the landlord.

I had a place in Prospect Heights for $2100, big 2 bedroom at the "peak" of this whole price thing.
Totally doable. And if I had a little less pressure to move, I probably would have found something better even then for the same price or less.

You might also consider Ditmas Park area
