Prospect Park West Noise
We've been looking at a few co ops on Prospect Park West. I'm just wondering if anyone has any comments about noise from the bandshell in the summer. Traffic noise and pollution from the traffic. Any thoughts would be really appreciated. Thanks.

I don't live on PPW but a few blocks from the park on the SW side and I can often hear the music from the concerts in the park. Its faint so its hardly a bother but I imagine its pretty loud if you are much closer. If you have good insulated windows you should be able to shut most/all of it out.
That said, its only for a few hours once and a while and the music is pretty nice to hear without having to deal with the crowds.
Personally, it wouldn't stop me from living there.

We lived on the second floor at 78 PPW for two or three years. Believe or not, the noise was horrible from the traffic. I think it really depends on where in the building you are located.
