Need refrigerator for rental
The fridge in our tenants' apartment is about to die. Does anyone have any suggestions for a no-frills affordable but solid replacement model?

I usually check a current Consumer Reports for recommendations before replacing a unit, and in past have always bought a known-quantity, brand-name recommended by latest CU ratings. I happen to like the prices, selection, service and delivery from: http://www.shopeba.com
Recently, I noticed these online at Ikea. Haven't yet reviewed the performance, energy rating, etc., but thought I'd check them out before making an upcoming replacement for tenant refrigerator: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/categories/range/10379/10501/

I have lived in four different apartments in the past five years, each having a different type of fridge. I'll add that the apartments all had new-ish if not brand new appliances when we moved in. Two of the fridges were GE -- one profile and one monogram. Both were brand new and both had problems. I would say don't get a fridge with through the door water or ice because they cause problems and need to be maintained on a regular basis. At the very least they need new water filters every few months or else the inside gets all clogged. You don't want to mess with it. The other two fridges were Kenmore and Maytag freezer on the bottom models. Both were great, especially the Maytag. My guess is the Kenmore is cheaper. Both were quiet, spacious and never had a problem with either. Neither had through the door water or ice.
