FYI - Action Glass
Action Glass now charges $65 to come out and give you an estimate. It will be deducted off your bill if you decide to go with them, but really, what up with this??? They should see an immediate drop off in business.

That's new. That said, they were very professional, on time and did a great job. I didn't get estimates from anyone else because I had done a couple of shower enclosures previously and their price came in below what I was guessing it would be. All-in-all a pleasant experience.

I know you recommend them, Dave, it was one reason why I called them. But, when everyone else will give me a free estimate, there is no incentive to possibly waste $65 to have them come out. Free estimates are part of doing business, especially when you charge $2,000 for your services.

I agree. Unfortunately during this economic crunch vendors are feeling somewhat abused by consumers. Homeowners are aware that the vendor pool is desperate to sell their wares; have been drastically cutting prices, and therefore the more prices you get eventually you'll find a deal.
Stand up shops, such as Action Glass counter this abuse from "shoppers" by charging a small fee.

I would pay $65 to avoid the company i didnt use because the one i chose was more than $65 more valuable.
And Hey, I charge a consulting fee to weed out the 'free info seekers', but I give you your moneys worth of info, not just a price estimate.
