developing our rowhouse garden

Can you recommend a reasonably priced vendor to create a garden in our townhouse backyard. There is a 2 foot wide planting area around the back patio, and we'd like container plantings and possibly a small tree. Nothing too involved -- prepare the soil and pick and put in the flowers/plants.
thanks

If you're looking for container/small planter work, I would recommend Gardens by Sue (gardensbysue.com) We have mostly concrete with a couple small planting areas, and a couple dozen containers/window boxes - she planted them all for us last spring.

Gowanus nursery is good, too, and has beautiful planters and interesting plants.

Try Cathy FitzSimons at Willowtown Gardens -- I don't have the phone # but try her website (www.willowowngardens.com)

She has been doing gardens in Bklyn for about 20 years, and has done many that, as you will see from her website, you may have been admiring for quite some time. (And no, I am not Cathy!)

She's a very nice person also.

you could call rachel prince gardens. 917.825.3914 this is the type of work i do... happy to see your garden, show you portfolio, give estimate, etc

my own garden was in the "garden of the day" feature last year, it's in the archives under "a decade in coming" or something like that.

Hi,

Our company, Sustain Landscape Design, does design and installation work. We focus on sustainable landscapes and spend a lot of time improving the soil - - healthy soil grows healthy plants.

You can take a look at some of the work we've done at www.sustainlandscapedesign.com. We will do a free initial consultation.
