George Smith sofa for sale
This is a very luscious sofa, down-filled, very comfortable. Works in traditional and more contemporary surroundings. Six feet long. The linen upholstery is in fair condition. These sofas are beautifully constructed, made to last for generations. New this would cost over $10,000. I'm asking $3000.

that sofa looks like George Smith crashed on it for a few years. unless the picture provided is a gross misrepresentation, I'd say drop the thing off at Housing Works and call it a day.

50013, I would like to have whatever you're smoking. Three grand for a couch you can find in the Macy's basement furniture sale? If someone (hopefully not you) ever paid $10K for this couch new, I find it sad and despicable. Good luck moving this one for less than $800.

I think if someone is willing to cart it off for you for free, you're ahead.

George Smith makes incredible couches. This actually is a good price for one of these. I can't tell from the pic how 'fair' the condition of the upholstery is but that might be critical to your sale. I'd try posting it over on apartmenttherapy.com's classifieds. Viewers there are less cynical and seem more design-oriented so they'll see the value.
Wish I had the $3k.

A $10,000 sofa? I'll say about that the same thing I say about bottle service: it's an efficient way to separate idiots from their money.

The shorter 6-foot size at George Smith covered in the plain linen wouldn't be $10K new. More like $6K. These sofas do last a lifetime. But you can get the same effect and quality by buying a vintage sofa with a hardwood frame, getting it recovered and new cushions made filled with down. That's what I did in our house. Also George Smith has clearance sales of their sofas each year.
