Wrought iron fence
Sorry for flooding forum with questions. This is the last one. :)
My rowhouse does not have fence. I would like to put fence there. So here are the questions:
- can I find some where a used Wrought iron fence and install it myself?
- do I need to get a permit? My house is the first house in the row but I will put fence at the line of other fences. So it will not stick out.

Check this site to determine whether you are in a historic district: http://www.nyc.gov/html/lpc/html/maps/maps_bklyn.shtml
If you are, you will definitely need LPC and DOB approval. To confirm whether you need DOB approval for sidewalk fences and enclosures, call or visit the DOB Brooklyn Borough Office, 210 Joralemon St., 8th fl., Tel: (718) 802-3675

As for installing it yourself, keep in mind that you will need to place in into concrete. Do you have any experience with that?
