Solid Wood Shelves

I'd like to add a few open shelves to my kitchen for cookbooks and get rid of an ugly rack that's been serving this purpose for way too long. I've searched a lot online and I only seem to be able to find shelves made of particle board. I'm wondering if there's any place where I can get solid wood shelves (ideally walnut) without having to go custom.

Thanks

I've bought solid walnut bookcases from pompy.com. They have a showroom in Tribeca.

thats a tough one. using walnut usually means custom. i just built a vanity, a bunch of tables and shelves out of walnut. are you familiar with carpenty ? theres a lumber yard in the bronx that carries black walnut. its my favorite wood. this is me: SD Construction -917-495-7120 - shane

I would recommend thick plywood instead of solid wood.
It will hold up better over time.

You Can get Plywood with walnut veneer on the outside layers.
You'll just need to cover the edge with a special narrow edging veneer (yes you can get that in real walnut as well)
That is you you want to make these yourself.
