needed:someone to cut a sidewalk
We need to find someone who can obtain a permit from the DOT to cut the sidewalk for us to make tree pits on our street. Please email me at info at metroavonline dot com . If anyone has any contacts please let me know! I assume a "concrete" guy could do this.

Under the Mayor's "Million Trees" program, they city might be able to assist you with this. We requested that several trees be planted in our neighborhood and they have already started to plant the trees. Now that said, the trees planted this far have been in empty pits and on grassy strips. If they don't do cement cuts, you can at least obtain the trees free of charge. The trees were all of a pretty decent size and were installed by Parks Department workers.

I just went ahead and had it done without a permit-my contractor does loads of these and never gets permits- not a big deal

The city cut a tree pit for us and planted a tree.

correct, but the city will only do one at a time..we need to plant many trees, so we need to do it ourselves.
