need kid frndly, restaurant
Hello. Any ideas to a good restaurant for a 6pm sat dinner in the Park Slope/Gowanus/Carrol Gardens area? I am taking my in-laws out for dinner and we will be bringing our 3 month old. She normally sleeps in public places. Something that is a bit nicer than a Two Boots or a pub, but not an entirely romantic place or anything like. any wiseguys, spare me the stupid comments too.

La Villa on 5th is always good for kids and nicer than Two Boots.

you can try: Melt on Bergen, Alchemy on 5th, Flatbush Farm on St. mark's, or Barrio on 7th. They're all in Park Slope and I've tried them all. kid-friendly, especially at 6 p.m. and decent food.

bar toto on 6th avenue and 11th street---nice, inexpensive, liquor, and they're always nice to kids and babies. or bar tabac on smith street.

I'd go tp practically any restaurant except the terminally pretentious with that young a sleeping child and at that time. Don't worry about it. Stone Park, Belleville, Brroklyn Fish camp on 5th, Rosewater on Union.

Blue Ribbon! Lots of families on the earlier side. We've never had anything less than gracious service and the food is always great.

Are you white? If so, the yuppies shouldn't hate you THAT much for bringing in a lovely little innocent baby.
If not, you should stay home, unless scorn doesn't bother you.

La Villa is a good choice for a large family group.

Miriam's on 5th (and Prospect?) is a good spot too. We've been there with the baby for dinner and brunch (on a fairly busy morning) with no problems.
I haven't taken my kid to Peperoncino (5th and St. Marks) yet, but I wouldn't hesitate to take an infant there. They have plenty of space and a friendly staff. We were there once with 6 adult family members and a 12 month old and they treated us quite well.

I am defending your right to eat in a restaurant with a baby. My wife manages a restaurant and gets complaints from yuppies that a kid is "looking at them." I make the case that many yuppies parrot words like "tolerance" when they should instead respect others.
If you weren't such a smug, dumb, racist bitch, surely you would have noticed that I was taking your back, and defending your baby from intolerant a-holes and yes.....the treatment would be worse if you were my color.
