Hair Salon Recommendation
Hi,
I have lived in Brooklyn for years but have always travelled to Manhattan to have my hair cut and colored. I have gone to the same fantastic woman for almost 16 years. The problem is that she changes salons every few years and is now working uptown. I have not had my hair cut in a year. Her new location is inconvenient for me. I have tried BK salons a couple of times over the years and have always been disappointed.
Are there any salons in Brooklyn that are comparable to top notch Manhattan salons?

Ask for Leila. The reviews on citysearch are incredible. That's how I found them/her. I've been going to her for about 6 months now.

For the last few years I've gone to Sandy at the Irene Dinov Aveda salon on Montague street. I can't compare to top-notch Manhattan salons b/c I'm too cheap to have ever gone to one but my hair has never looked better even when I let many months elapse between cuts. 718-855-5900

The Fabio Scalia Salon (formerly Femmina) on Montague between Clinton and Henry in Brooklyn Heights. Ask for Fabio. Nearly Manhattan prices but consistently great cuts.

Totally agree with 11217. Leila is a great hairdresser/ colorist (far better than many of the expensive Manhattan salons) and the prices are very fair.

My partner swears by Delilah's and specifically Leila as well. I have been thrilled with the cuts I get from Milla at Slope Suds. I used to go to a v expensive salon in Soho and haven't returned since trying Slope Suds.
