Frameless Shower Enclosure
Based on forum look ups, I see Parthenon, ABC and RB Wyatt . Who else should we contact for a frameless glass shower enclosure? Is there anyone to avoid? Thanks.

Atlantic Glass. I think they're on Albany Street...did an excellent job on my frameless shower and I'd highly recommend them. Make sure everyone's giving you a quote for the same glass thickness. Atlantic used the thicker stuff....almost 1/2"

Great, thanks!

Dave. Thanks for the tip. In what range should one expect prices to be for the frameless enclosures? How did Atlantic Glass compare with other places you found?

I tried looking up Atlantic Glass but I only see autobody glass shops....

I'll have to check the name again...I'm sure I've posted it on other Forum posts. I've done two of these before and was immdiately impressed with the service and punctuality of the guys and the price was better than what I got in Pennsylvania; so I never got an additional quote and went with them.

Check the yellow pages under glass....that's how I found them. But I'll check my receipts tonight...I paid about $2,200 for a 6' door with two side panels plus a 4'X4' side panel (there is a marble knee wall below)....a 2-sided 90 degree enclosure.

Thanks Dave, I'll keep digging....

DIBS, a while ago you posted this on my reno blog. You thought it was Atlantic Glass then you looked it up and said:
"it was Action Glass...718-756-8000"

Yes...Avoid at all cost the place on Garfields on 5th avenue. I ordered a frameless shower from him and when I got home after work I saw a framed shower installed. The installers said that there is no way to install a framless shower based on the thickness of the glass he ordered.
I went back to his store and he refunded $800 of the total cost. I kept the framed shower.
Take home message: He has no idea what he is doing!

landlord, that would be Brooklyn Kitchen. A nightmare.

Yes, I second (or third) the comments on Brooklyn Kitchen. Total nightmare. I still grit my teeth when I go past that place.

I've noticed they sell very cheap frameless glass shower enclosures on Ebay and some of the seller ratings are quite high. . . something to look into if you really want to save money.
Lately I've been ordering more and more bathroom fixtures online from places like Designerplumbingoutlet.com and Dougstubs.com and saving Big Bucks.

Had a really difficult time with Wyatt. 2 weeks became 2 months, calls went unreturned, and the installation was not satisfactory. The glass door panels are not on a bottom track so they wobble and the closing seam has an opening. No response about this.Very expensive, beautiful glass, but not worth $1800. I wish I had known about Atlantic or at least tried Angies List for others.
