Fort Greene clothing donation
Just did some spring cleaning and have a good amount of clothing (as well as a twin mattress, if accepted) that I would like to donate to a nearby facility/charity/church. Does anybody know of anything?

If you find nowhere closer to you, there are weekly clothing and textile recycling vans at several NYC greenmarkets, including the Saturday market at Grand Army Plaza. For more info see: http://cenyc.org/recycling/recyclingevents

There's always the Salvation Army on Downing Street in Clinton Hill.

Excellent to know about the clothing/textile donation at Grand Army. Will start purging!

From my conversations with the guys at Grand Army, they sort donations into usable and non-usable, so even the most worn out (but clean) clothing and textiles are welcome. They are also able to supply receipts for tax-deductible donations. More info at these links: http://cenyc.org/recycling/boroughs/brooklyn
