where can i buy a xmas tree in park slope? and one other question
preferable something on 5th avenue on the name streets or early numbered streets (it's cooooold out and i dont to have to walk too far). im looking for a very very little tree tho. not microscopic, but one i wont have to buy a stand for?
on another note, i took a nasty fall on friday evening on union street between 4th and 5th avenue. there's an entire part of the concrete that jets up. i took a nastys pill and really hurt both knees (i wasnt even drunk btw, this was right after work). ouch. anyway, is 311 the place to call to get this fixed or is it the property owner? oh and when i fell this helpful man who lives on the block came up to me and told me that a few months ago an older lady broke her ankle in the same spot.
im not looking to sue anyone, i didnt have to go to the doctor or anything, but i dont want the same thing to happen to someone else.
thanks,

The Boy Scouts have been selling trees at JJ Byrne for the past few years. They will deliver your tree to your dwelling.

natural land on flatbush at 7th ave has a lot of smaller trees, including little mini-trees that could fit on a coffee table.

Front of the key food on 5th and sterling usually has a tree vendor.

What about a little tree/bush in a pot? Maybe you could donate it afterwards to a person with a yard, or a park?

but i like watching christmas trees slowly die :( lol did i just say that!? hahah. hmmm maybe. i bet a live tree in a pot would be a little more expensive though. we'll see. ill stop by keyfood tonight.

When I passed by JJ Byrne Park (5th Ave/3rd St) this weekend there was not a great selection of trees but maybe there are more to come. We got ours tree at the church on 7th Ave betw Carroll and President. There were a few place on 7th selling trees-- I havn't seen any trees on 5th Ave between Union and 9th St, but maybe there are some farther north.

Oh, definitely go for a real live mini-tree planted in a pot. They're so cute. And of course they're winter-hardy, so when you get tired of it indoors you could plant it into a planter on your stoop/front of building (if you have such a space). We did that last year--it was nice to have some greenery out front over the winter. (Sadly, it actually died over the summer because I didn't really water it...doh! Plan to be more diligent next summer...)

Dry trees are a real fire hazard. I'd suggest putting a cut tree in a pail of water - it'll still dry out & you'll get a longer period to watch its death throes if that's your pleasure.

there used to be a reasonable place on 3rd ave and like carroll? i don't live in the area anymore, so it may be gone, but it was a great deal.

Rob - in front of the CVS on 9th between 5/6...not really in the area you requested, but I think they sell every day.
