Need Spindles
I have been searching but still can't find spindles to complete the staircase.
I need quite a few (about 80)to coomplete the entire run. Anyone out there getting rid of theirs?

I think you are best of checking the big salvage stores - like Vernont Salvage in White River Junction or the place at the top of main street in Hudson, NY.

Another option is to have them made for you. We did that for a some spindles to match what we already had. It has been awhile, so I unfortunately I can't remember who did it for us.

There's a house on Lincoln Pl being redone - you might ask if they're taking out staircase - I know they're putting in an elevator. It's #128 - between 6th & 7th.

i just used a guy that was recommended on this sight called shane, shanedeary@hotmail.com. he is the nicest guy, is a carpenter and a true craftsperson. he repaired two wooden entry doors and secured my entire stair banister,...all three floors, repaired missing pieces on my newel post.. he was great.

I had Soxco (South Oxford Stair Co) make and install new spindles and newel post - matching the existing ones - for me and they did a great job. I recommend them.
