looking for salvage bricks
Our contractor is having a hard time locating bricks to match those on the facade of our Carroll Gardens brick house. Anyone know sources for salvage bricks? Anyone have any sitting around I could take/buy? I probably need about 75 bricks.
Thanks.

Are you trying to match a standard size brick? Some of the old ones are longer and handmade.

Our chimney guy seems to have a good source for them because we needed a bunch for our fireplace work. Jason at Big Apple Chimney. I don't know what he'd charge, if anything but he's cool and has been doing great work for us this week in our own CG fixer upper.

As to the size: The bricks on my house range from 7-3/4" to 8-1/4" long. So, I think anything in that range would work.

I had to match old bricks and we did a combination of two colors of new bricks. I'll get the name for you. I have to ask my architect.

there are 200+ old bricks stacked neatly outside my building here on bergen / court street. they were removed from the vacant warehouse next door by my super and his workers.
they have been there for over 2 months easy. i don't know what, if anything, they have planned for them but maybe they will hook you up. email me if interested cf80q at yahoo dot com.
