Columbia Street and Woodhull Street
Was wondering what the neighborhood is like and what the going rents are.
I'm looking to move somewhere with a short commute to Manhattan, but am priced out of most neighborhoods. Hoping to get a deal because of proximity to the highways.
Any help would be appreciated.

It's a great neighborhood. Not sure about the rents, but they are not that cheap.

I live just around the block. Not such an easy commute unless you bike. I also think not so cheap unless you can bunk with my rent controlled tenant who pays $275. But great neighborhood.

Well it's not too far from the train station which is fairly quick to Manhattan, no?
Right now I've negotiated the rent to 1550 for one bedroom ~650 sq ft, but I was hoping that I could get them to go lower.
