Cabinet hinges (hydraulic?) need fixin'
I have a couple of cabinets laid horizontally in my kitchen. The hinges are what I believe to be hydraulic (or some sort of air pressure) which keeps the cabinet doors raised when you open them. The hinges on the cabinet we use the most seem to be losing their staying-power and now the door tends to droop after we open it.
The cabinets are Italian but I don't remember the make, and the Russian guy we bought them from went belly-up. Any ideas on replacing/repairing our hinges?

is there a make and model on the pistons?
Some of them you can adjust the pressure.

If the hardware is actuated by air pressure it would be called pneumatic which is very unlikely. The mechanism that holds the door is probably a spring or several springs- the hydraulic piston only dampens the spring pressure when it opens and closes. If you remove the cover, there should be a spring tension adjustment (the more premium the hardware the more adjustments). The springs also come in different weights should you want to replace or upgrade them. Is the manufactures name on the hardware? That piece of information will be very helpful.

It says "Stabilus Lift-O-Mat". Ring any bells? So you think I need to disassemble them?
