radiator stripping
Can anyone recommend someone/place that strips or sandblasts radiators. Not sure if they are the same procedure or not, if not, which is better? And is it worth the cost, or would I be better off scraping and painting a radiator with several layers of flaking paint on it? shtha

Stripping uses chemicals, sandblasting is just that. Stripping you could do yourself. Sandblasting will probably be better in getting down to the base metal.

I used ever-nu metal to sand blast two radiators in 2006 and just had two more done by them last month. I learned of them on Brownstoner and I've recommended them on Brownstoner also. Talk to Frank (718.788.7915)

I have a recently sandblasted radiator for sale for about $100 if you're interested. I can e-mail photos and dimensions: it's about 30" wide by 40" tall, circa 1915. It's in perfect shape with all the proper detailing intact. 917-952-2294.
