Mr. B... can we get an OT *off topic* forum here?

a bunch of us like to talk back and forth during the day and i feel like some of us are totally polluting the forums and regular blog posts.

having an off topic forum wouldnt detract posters from the other parts of the blog, but it would definitly give some of us who actually do like to poke fun at each other a nice little section of this great blog.

it's up to you, id think it would be cool. see what other think.

i just want to make fun of bayridgegirl about her former roller disco days but i cant just come out and do that in a blog about something important. it would just be for fun. if it gets out of control, of course, nix it. but most of the best blogs and websites have an off topic section where the people who wind up friending each other wind up talking about things where they dont have to mess up the other parts of the board.

Ya know Rob, that's a brilliant idea - for all of the reasons you stated.

cobblehiller here to 2nd the idea.

What would we talk about??

Posted by: daveinbedstuy at November 26, 2008 9:29 AM

Obviously, to thrash BRG!!

Posted by: bayridgegirl at November 26, 2008 9:35 AM

What are you doing for turkey day?

Posted by: bayridgegirl at November 26, 2008 10:17 AM

I will be staying home but having people over on Saturday. Partner is up from Philly and attending a family thing by himself on Thursday.

Been searching Craigslist for an authentic Kanarsee Indian to invite over!!!! LOL

Posted by: daveinbedstuy at November 26, 2008 10:20 AM

Staying here, Better Half and I have a 16lb. turkey and all the stuff to go with - gasp - I just realized I forgot cranberry stuff - crap!, and BH requested a pumpkin pie, so I'll make that this evening.

What about you BRG?

Posted by: cobblehiller at November 26, 2008 10:25 AM

im going with my exboyfriend to his sister's house out on long island. but i can't stay there too long cuz i have to take care of my dog and my roommate's dog who has a pee problem (ill leave some wee wee pads down tho, she should be okay for a few hours). im actually nervous. i havent seen his family since he dumped me last christmas! someone at work gave me a klonopin to take so i could relax and not be all nervous, but i wound up taking it yesterday instead :( oh well, hopefully wine will do the trick! :)

*rob*

Posted by: PitbullNYC at November 26, 2008 10:30 AM

Do the pumpkin cheesecake recipe from Williams Sonoma...really easy and delicious. I MUST always have the jellied cranberries from the can along with the homemade cranberry sauce. I secretly like the look of the can indentations. White trash habits never die and are a nice offset to Williams Sonoma snobbishness.

Posted by: daveinbedstuy at November 26, 2008 10:32 AM

oh i forgot i have to make stuffing to bring there. are the supermarkets gonna be packed tonight? ugh i should have gone last night.

Sex with ex-boyfriends is always great.

Posted by: daveinbedstuy at November 26, 2008 10:33 AM

I guess that last remark is a good example for needing an "off topic" forum!!!!

Posted by: daveinbedstuy at November 26, 2008 10:34 AM

That's so nice that you're still friendly with your ex Rob. You'll be fine. If they liked you then, they'll like you still. My ex is possibly my very best friend - after BH of course.

Posted by: cobblehiller at November 26, 2008 10:35 AM

Where's Biff? Out shooting a turkey? There are usually a lot of them here on any post about the MAB.

Posted by: daveinbedstuy at November 26, 2008 10:36 AM

Heck, why not just give Biff and BRG their own "reno" blog so we can all monitor how their project is coming along?

Meanwhile, happy Thanksgiving everyone. We will be decamping from our own little subdivision of the old Richard Berry farm (sorry DIBS, no Kanarsee in my neck of the woods), down the old Gowanus Road and headed over the river and through the woods (aka Staten Island and NJ) to PA to my mother-in-law's for Thanksgiving.

Posted by: slopefarm at November 26, 2008 10:39 AM

Where in PA slopefarm??

Posted by: daveinbedstuy at November 26, 2008 10:42 AM

dave i LOVED canned cranberry jelly!!!! it's sooooo good mushed in with mashed potatos and turkey and gravy. yum! and i love the indentations as well!

yeah cobblehiller, i consider my ex my best friend too. i wish we were still together, and it still kind of hurts, but i dont want to spend thanksgiving alone, and i do like his family.

funny story (well not funny cuz domestic violence isnt funny) but the last time i saw his sister was last christmas. we were all in the middle of secret santa and her husband said some nasty comment to their other sister and she said something nasty to him and hit him on the back of the head.. not in a hard way, just like a shuddup type of light tap to the back of the head. well the next thing you know he slapped her in her face, HARD. everyones jaws dropped. most akward next couple of hours either. we gave up on the secret santa (i wound up getting two gifts cuz of that). i felt bad for the kids, they ran into their rooms crying saying daddy ruined christmas :(

*Rob*

Posted by: PitbullNYC at November 26, 2008 10:42 AM

BH doesn't like cheesecake. He wants the traditional pie, and so he will have one!

I'm ALL about the canned kind! I like the fancier stuff too, but I want the canned kind in a solid chunk in an oval dish. If people get crazy, I will 'consider' slicing it and laying it out in a row. But I PREFER seeing the indentations myself. Mind you my mother served it this way in some silver heirloom dish with really pretty edging. And she was an old WASP, so screw the white trash thing...canned cranberry sauce transcends class!

Posted by: cobblehiller at November 26, 2008 10:42 AM

PitBull...sounds like the scene from "Female Trouble" when she didn't get the "cha cha heels"

Posted by: daveinbedstuy at November 26, 2008 10:44 AM

Happy trails Slopey!

Posted by: cobblehiller at November 26, 2008 10:46 AM

The pretty edging is called "gadrooning." it goes extremely well with the canned jellied especially when its sterling silver!!!

When I lived in Hong Kong in the early 90s I was soooo elated when I found a shop that carried the canned cranberry jelly. So was everyone that came to dinner...including those two sailors from the Nimitz!!!!

Just adding a homespun Thanksgiving moment.

Posted by: daveinbedstuy at November 26, 2008 10:47 AM

HA! that movie is great!. the john waters one right? i think i get that confused with one of his other movies sometimes tho...

*rob*

Posted by: PitbullNYC at November 26, 2008 10:47 AM

Yes, the John Waters one. I see him up in Provincetown a lot. I think he lives there during the Summer.

Posted by: daveinbedstuy at November 26, 2008 10:49 AM

question for the cooks: im making stuffing... not stovetop, or breaded crumbs, just boxed in the bird kind of stuffing, tho im not putting it in a bird. ive made it a few weeks ago.. i used vegan sausage (im not a vegan but i love this one brand of sausage for some reason), and imitation bacon bits.. then i put white cheese on top and baked it.. it came out really good but i dont want to make it and bring and have people be all like ew what the hell is this? anyway my question is this,. i was reading somewhere that instead of using water for the stuffing, to use chicken broth? does anyone do that? does it make a difference? also what else can i add to this stuffing?

*rob*

Posted by: PitbullNYC at November 26, 2008 10:51 AM

I always use chicken broth. The only thing I add is onions, celery and the giblets diced which I cook beforehand in butter and broth. And then you MUST add Bell's seasoning. Every grocery store carries it in a small yellow box with a red turkey on the front.

Posted by: daveinbedstuy at November 26, 2008 10:55 AM

DIBS --

Posted by: slopefarm at November 26, 2008 10:55 AM

cheese???? on top of stuffing???? Are you, like, from somewhere else?? Duh??? LOL

Posted by: daveinbedstuy at November 26, 2008 10:56 AM

Yes, use chicken broth, it adds flavor. And you might like to saute some onions and maybe a little celery for it. The sausage could be good, if your friends are non-traditionalist - you might be ok with that. The imitation bacon strikes me as maybe too much with the sausage, but it could be ok. I'd skip the cheese.

It's hard to say - you know these folks - how flexible are they? People can surprise you with how 'traditionalist' they are at Thanksgiving.

Posted by: cobblehiller at November 26, 2008 10:56 AM

Hello all, sorry I'm late. I think it's interesting that someone finally decided to take the Landmarks Preservation Commission to court...

I say we piss everyone off by making the off-topic thread the only on-topic thread and talk about Thanksgiving recipes in every other story today.

KIDDING!!

Posted by: Biff Champion at November 26, 2008 11:03 AM

"Where's Biff? Out shooting a turkey? There are usually a lot of them here on any post about the MAB."

No, I prefer to choke the chicken. Can I say that here? It is the OT thread after all.

Speaking of the MAB, anyone have a recipe for Mushroom Cloud Gravy?

Posted by: Biff Champion at November 26, 2008 11:05 AM

BAH.....I hate cranberry sauce in any form.

*rob* - you have great stories. Have fun tomorrow and relax and wipe up the pee.

Cobble - I admire that you're baker. I don't cook except I did make stuffed veggie grapeleaves for tomorrow (isn't that what the pilgrims ate??)

DIBS - leave it to you to always veer off topic, even in a post about off-topic. What's a kanarsee Indian?

Slope - sorry to disappoint, but there's no project between Biff and Brg...I do consider him a turkey, though.

Me - I'll be at bayridgemama's for early dinner and then Hubby's Parents in LI for late dinner.
(and neither one will have the traditional thanksgiving dinner)
Tomorrow - party at our place
Saturday - party in NJ
Sunday - I purge all food out of my system.

Posted by: bayridgegirl at November 26, 2008 11:06 AM

Do you celebrate the Canadian Thanksgiving in October as well, Biff? Is there evr any kind of a hockey theme??

Posted by: daveinbedstuy at November 26, 2008 11:07 AM

"Sunday - I purge all food out of my system."
TMI

"Slope - sorry to disappoint, but there's no project between Biff and Brg...I do consider him a turkey, though."
BRG, in the spirit of Thanksgiving, get stuffed!

Posted by: Biff Champion at November 26, 2008 11:09 AM

'No, I prefer to choke the chicken'

Are you sure you want to tell people this??

Posted by: bayridgegirl at November 26, 2008 11:11 AM

BRG...partyinging in NJ on saturday??? With the What????

"What's a Kanarsee Indian?" Kinda like asking who's buried in Grant's tomb? The Kanarsee Indians were the original native people to this area. They were the first to complain about gentrification by the Brits that moved in. People like wasder's forefathers. Unfortunately all they got was that Canarsie was named after them.

Posted by: daveinbedstuy at November 26, 2008 11:11 AM

thanks for the stuffing tips! :) im sure they will have their own bird stuffing too. maybe i should just bring a bottle of wine instead of cooking, not sure ill figure it out later i guess. brg, where on long island are you going? im going out to oakdale.
and yeah i might leave the cheese off the stuffing. i dont know if that would go over well. i like it tho :)

*rob*

Posted by: PitbullNYC at November 26, 2008 11:13 AM

"Do you celebrate the Canadian Thanksgiving in October as well, Biff? Is there evr any kind of a hockey theme??"
- Yes, we traditionally rip off the turkey legs and play table hockey, using Aunt Ethel's rock hard squash slices as makeshift pucks. I'm usually left wing (that's my position, not what I use for my stick).

"'No, I prefer to choke the chicken'
Are you sure you want to tell people this??"
- Not really. I just got a bit over exhuberant knowing we had our very own thread to dick around in.

Posted by: Biff Champion at November 26, 2008 11:14 AM

Thank us Oh Lord for these thy threads that we can go off topic through your grace. Amen.

Y'all ready for this...

Things You Can Only Say On Thanksgiving...

1. Talk about a huge breast!
2. Tying the legs together keeps the inside moist.
3. It's Cool Whip time!
4. If I don't undo my pants, I'll burst!
5. That's one terrific spread!
6. I'm in the mood for a little dark meat.
7. Are you ready for seconds yet?
8. Its a little dry, do you still want to eat it?
9. Just wait your turn, you'll get some!
10. Don't play with your meat.
11. Just spread the legs open & stuff it in.
12. Do you think you'll be able to handle all these people at once?
13. I didn't expect everyone to come at once!
14. You still have a little bit on your chin.
15. How long will it take after you stick it in?
16. You'll know it's ready when it pops up.
17. Wow, I didn't think I could handle all of that!
18. That's the biggest one I've ever seen.

Posted by: Biff Champion at November 26, 2008 11:19 AM

have you all bought you sexy bathing suit yet from the poster above!?

*Rob*

Posted by: PitbullNYC at November 26, 2008 11:20 AM

Biff,

I may be mistaken but I believe mushroom cloud gravy is done by taking a can of cream of mushroom soup and adding it to the pan drippings. You'd also wisk in a cup of milk and cook till it thickens.

What I would do is to make a rue, add that to the pan drippings with some stock and then adding the can of soup and milk. It will yield a bigger portion and the rue will thicken the gravy.

Posted by: TownhouseLady at November 26, 2008 11:22 AM

"BRG, in the spirit of Thanksgiving, get stuffed!"
Don't you wish...it was you doing the stuffing....instead of *rob*

"BRG...partyinging in NJ on saturday??? With the What????"
Yes - I finally gave in. I girl can only take so many lewd messages.

Biff - what do you have whipped up for tomorrow?

Posted by: bayridgegirl at November 26, 2008 11:22 AM

I've said many of those things on many occasions other than Thanksgiving. I'm sure some of our other regular posters have as well. Guess which ones I've said most often!!!!

Posted by: daveinbedstuy at November 26, 2008 11:22 AM

"Things You Can Only Say On Thanksgiving..."

Are you sure you haven't said these somewhere else...seems like you'd be the type to use thanksgiving lingo all year round.

Posted by: bayridgegirl at November 26, 2008 11:25 AM

THL...a rue is a shrub, oftentimes used as a herb. Also, a street in France. I hope you're going to make a roux instead. You're going to catch hell on here from all the snobs on that one!!! LOL Will you be in Mill Basin for thanksgiving???

Posted by: daveinbedstuy at November 26, 2008 11:26 AM

"Slope - sorry to disappoint, but there's no project between Biff and Brg...I do consider him a turkey, though."

I figured as much. Well, then, I rescind my request. Not so interested in a Biff DIY reno blog, much as I love Biff's digressions.

Posted by: slopefarm at November 26, 2008 11:27 AM

THL, that actually sounds quite good. However, to be truly authentic and representative of the MAB, I believe at some point the stock has to plummet to the ground and will actually yield an infintesimally small amount.

Posted by: Biff Champion at November 26, 2008 11:28 AM

"Biff - what do you have whipped up for tomorrow?"

I'm at the mercy of my host...my hands are tied.

Posted by: Biff Champion at November 26, 2008 11:30 AM

don't forget to add the tanis root!!!

*rob*

Posted by: PitbullNYC at November 26, 2008 11:30 AM

Longest thread of the day. But we knew at the outset that it would be.

Posted by: daveinbedstuy at November 26, 2008 11:32 AM

"Not so interested in a Biff DIY reno blog, much as I love Biff's digressions."

Slope - couldn't agree more with you. But according to his previous statement. He is a DIY and very hands on.
Are you male/female?

Posted by: bayridgegirl at November 26, 2008 11:33 AM

DUH, the sad thing is, I know that. What I don't know is why my brain farts like that sometimes. Oh well, glad I could provide some humor!

Nope, I'll be at the in laws in Manhattan.

Posted by: TownhouseLady at November 26, 2008 11:34 AM

"Guess which ones I've said most often!!!!"

DIBS....#6...I win!

Posted by: bayridgegirl at November 26, 2008 11:34 AM

Biff,

I'm so glad you mentioned it. I'd forgotten all about it. I'm going to have to whip that up sometime soon although I do it with pork or beef as I'm severely allergic to all things poultry.

Posted by: TownhouseLady at November 26, 2008 11:39 AM

"Cobble - I admire that you're baker. I don't cook except I did make stuffed veggie grapeleaves for tomorrow (isn't that what the pilgrims ate??)"

I have it on high authority that the pilgrims ate whatever they could get! So, had stuffed veggie grapeleaves been available, I'm certain they would have eaten them! Yum! Enjoy!

Posted by: cobblehiller at November 26, 2008 11:41 AM

"I'm at the mercy of my host...my hands are tied."

But then how will you grab the turkey or in your case, choke the chicken.

Posted by: bayridgegirl at November 26, 2008 11:41 AM

BRG: "Are you male/female?"

I am male. cobblehiller created some confusion on this point last week. But you should know better. We chatted at length at the end of the Union Hall gathering. cobblehiller met me too, but our chat was brief, so cobblehiller has a better excuse.

Posted by: slopefarm at November 26, 2008 11:43 AM

If anyone ever needs rope for "trussing," I have some extremely soft, almost silk-like expensive sailboat rigging ropes.

Posted by: daveinbedstuy at November 26, 2008 11:43 AM

UI'm sorry Slopey, I think I must be mixing you up with a very thin woman that I met at Union Hall. I remembered that I saw 'slopefarm", but incorrectly. I also had two glasses of wine, so I was a little 'toasted'.

Posted by: cobblehiller at November 26, 2008 11:47 AM

BRG, stuffed grape leaves? That's definitely something to be proud of. That's a big time consuming undertaking. I love those, make them every Easter.

Posted by: TownhouseLady at November 26, 2008 11:48 AM

"I am male. cobblehiller created some confusion on this point last week. But you should know better. We chatted at length at the end of the Union Hall gathering. cobblehiller met me too, but our chat was brief, so cobblehiller has a better excuse."

I didn't want to say anything to embarrass BRG, but her question was a terrible social faux pas. Especially given the three of us spent quite some time together on the couch by the fire towards the end of the night.

Posted by: Biff Champion at November 26, 2008 11:50 AM

Saganaki too???

Posted by: daveinbedstuy at November 26, 2008 11:50 AM

Cobble - thanks, unfortunately, nothing on our table will be 'American'.
The grapeleaves took me 5 hours to make. I rolled 250. They better be good.

Slope - so sorry, I too mistook you for someone else. I remember conversing with you about south slope and greenwood. BTW - you're a super nice guy and now an admitted voyeur :)

DIBS - what else do you have in that closet of yours - collar and a leash?

Posted by: bayridgegirl at November 26, 2008 11:52 AM

No collar & leash BRG. That's just too bizarre BRG.

Posted by: daveinbedstuy at November 26, 2008 11:54 AM

Thanks THL.
I'm not a cook. I actually hate it. I only make a few things that come out great.
Grapeleaves, Tabbouleh (which also is very time consuming) and garlic shrimp.
I admire people who cook with passion.

I'm hungry!

Posted by: bayridgegirl at November 26, 2008 11:57 AM

cobblehiller, don't worry about it. I think we've both been out of circulation so long with our better halves and kids and whatnot that two glasses will do it these days.

Posted by: slopefarm at November 26, 2008 12:02 PM

Okay, I guess I'll be the curmudgeon here. This thread starts out with the phrase "totally polluting the forums" and then, in the absence of the immediate creation of an "off-topic" forum, proceeds to demonstrate, with zero constraint, how to do just that. There must be dozens, if not hundreds, of social networking forums where you all can engage in your banterings that don't relate to the main thrust of this site. Given that, I really don't see why Mr. B should provide you with a playroom on his site (with the associated additional monitoring etc. that it would entail) and I would regard such provision as being an unwarranted dilution of the overall site content. "Get a room" fer Christ's sake.

Finally, a genuine and uncurmudgeonly "Happy Thanksgiving" to one and all.

Posted by: johnife at November 26, 2008 12:30 PM

BRG, he just said "thrust"!

Btw, your Citi is up to $6.70!

Posted by: Biff Champion at November 26, 2008 12:38 PM

We've opened a bottle of wine here at the office. My cooleagues loved the "Things you can only say at Thanksgiving"

Posted by: daveinbedstuy at November 26, 2008 12:41 PM

jonife is SUCH a party pooper. it might behoove you to know that the the most successful websites that are have a specific theme, all provide an off topic area for people to chat about various stuff. if this was an anonymous-only type of site, that wouldnt work as well. i dont understand your aversion to it. it's not like youre forced to talk about other topics.

Spelling is already starting to go!!!!

Dizzy, I’m so dizzy my head is spinning
Like a whirlpool it never ends
And it’s You girl makin’ it spin
You're making me dizzy

First time that I saw You girl, I knew that I just had to make You mine
But it’s so hard to talk to You with fellows hangin’ round You all the time
I want You for my sweet pet, but You keep playing hard to get
I’m going round in circles all the time

Dizzy, I’m so dizzy my head is spinning
Like a whirlpool it never ends
And it’s You girl makin’ it spin
You're making me dizzy

I finally got to talk to You and I told You just exactly how I felt
Then I held You close to me and kissed You and my heart began to melt
Girl You've got control on me,cuz I’m so dizzy I can't see
I need to call a doctor for some help

Dizzy, I’m so dizzy my head is spinning
Like a whirlpool it never ends
And it’s You girl makin’ it spin
You're making me dizzy
my head is spinning
Like a whirlpool it never ends
And it’s You girl making it spin
You're making me dizzy
you're making me dizzy

Johnife...did you intent to use the word 'thrust' or was it a freudian slip...be careful with the use.....it could start something that will can get so deep.

Selling at 9.00...do you think I should hold on to it longer?

BRG, I told you to put on a stop sell order as it goes up. Consider setting it at $1 below the current selling price and keep raising it as the stock (hopefully) goes up.

Now, this isn't for the faint of heart and is enough to turn the most voracious carnivoire into a vegan...I think the grossness of this is only matched by the hilarity of the seemingly serious commenters...and I thought WE are an odd bunch! "BRG, I told you to put on a stop sell order as it goes up. Consider setting it at $1 below the current selling price and keep raising it as the stock (hopefully) goes up"

Biff, you're speaking a language I don't understand. I'm a novice at trading. I put a sell order at 9.00...what's the set it at $1 below?
I guess you have to teach me a few things.

BTW - Your bacon link is disgusting. That is just so over the top.

Posted by: bayridgegirl at November 26, 2008 1:09 PM

BRG, it's really not more complicated then your sell order at $9. Here's a basic explanation...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Limit_order#Limit_order

I prefer a sell stop order to a stop limit order because if something is rapidly tanking, you won't be assured of selling it on the way down with a stop limit order. I mistakenly entered a sell stop order as a stop limit order during the tech bubble and lost quite a bit on a particular stock that spiraled down. I won't make that mistake again!

But with all the transaction exchanges, orders to fill, entered orders, limit order, executed trades, day orders, good-til-cancelled, setting a limit, regular trading, market-on-open orders, conditional orders, stop orders, term fluctuations, gains and losses, Tick sensitive Orders, discretionary orders and All-or-none limit order....has put me in a frenzy.

Posted by: bayridgegirl at November 26, 2008 1:27 PM

Have a drink BRG.

Posted by: daveinbedstuy at November 26, 2008 1:29 PM

It's not that bad, BRG. Just make sure if you ever intend to write the Series 7 exam, you know the difference between an uncovered option and a naked option position. Of course knowing all you can about long straddles can also come in handy.

Posted by: Biff Champion at November 26, 2008 1:36 PM

No, liquer for me, ever.
Sorry, DIBS, you can't get this girl drunk and have your way.
But, then again if you were....ah, never mind.

Posted by: bayridgegirl at November 26, 2008 1:38 PM

I've heard "sit" and "take" an exam but never "write"

BRG..."Lips that touch "liquer" will never touch mine"

Posted by: daveinbedstuy at November 26, 2008 1:41 PM

Thanks Biff , obviously it will take me some time to get that dream home. But that's what the USA is all about, dreaming and then making that dream come true. Again to all have a safe and happy thanksgiving. I am ready for some pecan pie....

Posted by: HOBOKENROCKS at November 26, 2008 1:43 PM

Biff, my intentions were never to jump into that market. But it is intriguing. I'm learning alot and every day I find out something new.

In the past, I only invested in solid performing stocks and just held onto them, but am now taking some risks.

Posted by: bayridgegirl at November 26, 2008 1:43 PM

"I've heard "sit" and "take" an exam but never "write""

DIBS, that's what we say in the Motherland, although admittedly, "write" for the Series 7 is particularly misleading since it's done via mouse/computer. Maybe I should have said, "if you ever intend to double click the Series 7 exam..."

Posted by: Biff Champion at November 26, 2008 1:48 PM

"liquer"
I don't drink it...I don't know how to spell it!!

Posted by: bayridgegirl at November 26, 2008 1:48 PM

HOBO, that what it's all about. Without dreams, the world stands still. I really do wish you luck in eventually finding the home of your dreams.

BRG, just take it one day at a time. Taking risks in the market can be quite fun and rewarding, just make sure you have some protection. No risk, no reward.

Posted by: Biff Champion at November 26, 2008 1:51 PM

I'm not a risk taker, Biff.
I got screwed after 9/11 and lost alot....I made bad decisions and still re-couping from that.

You're right about the 'no risk, no reward', but I'm still hesitant. There's so many factors. I'm not protected and don't want to put all my eggs in one basket.

100 off-topic posts in a thread about off-topic posting

Posted by: bayridgegirl at November 26, 2008 2:08 PM

"100 off-topic posts in a thread about off-topic posting"

Is that really an off-topic post? To the contrary, I would argue that that if one is commenting about the number of off-topic posts in a thread about off-topic posting, one is actually ON topic!

Posted by: Biff Champion at November 26, 2008 2:13 PM

Mr. B, did say to keep it topical...or was that tropical.

Happy Thanksgiving, Mr. & Mrs. B, Lisa and the rest of the staff!

Posted by: daveinbedstuy at November 26, 2008 3:58 PM

"You give up?"
No, but I was told that if I don't have anything nice to say, then I should say nothing. Apparently you were told that if you have something really unfunny to say, say it as soon as possible.

DIBS/Rob, have a great long weekend.

Posted by: Biff Champion at November 26, 2008 4:00 PM

"No, but I was told that if I don't have anything nice to say, then I should say nothing."

Well, you sure have said alot of nothing today and all of it wasn't nice.

I'll stop sparring with you long enough to say...
While your giving thanks around the table, be grateful that I spared you the last humilation.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and a great weekend!
