Kitchen Hardware

I'm about to start a complete kitchen renovation and have almost everything purchased and planned except for my cabinet hardware. I'm looking for a place in NYC where I can see a lot of different types of knobs and pulls. I've found a ton of websites selling what I'm looking for, but I'd like to see cabinet hardware in person before I buy anything. Also if anyone has had a particularly good or bad experience with any of the online cabinet hardware purveyors, I'd like to hear about it.

Thanks

Simon's, over on 3rd avenue and I believe 29th Street.

I agree with Smokychimp--Simon's is tops: http://www.simons-hardware.com/
Restoration Hardware usually has a pretty good selection on display, too:

Simon's indeed, particularly for the higher end knobs and pulls. Gracious Home also has an impressive selection of middle of the line hardware items.

Simons and Gracious Home are good, but we found best luck at Restoration Hardware, 935 Broadway near 22nd Street.

I had very bad customer service from KnobsandThings.com. They had a very high restocking fee for a fixture that had a piece missing. Their customer service reps have the "I hate this job and I'm not going to be the least bit helpful to you" attitude.

I ended up buying all cabinet hardware at Restoration Hardware after searching at Simon's, Gracious Home and several online sites.

If you sign up for Restoration Hardware email you'll start getting $100 coupons good w/ purchase -- they seem to be in a lot of trouble and looking to dump inventory.
