Brown Garbage Cans Do Not Exist!!!
Help. I'm trying to find brown or dark brown garbage cans with matching lids for the front of my brownstone. They will look so much better than grey or metal. I am just blown away that I cannot seem to find this anywhere! Not Lowes, not Home Depot...not even after searching for hours and hours on line. This is madness.

I swear I'm serious. I obsess over this stuff. This one is an okay color, but really looking for more brown than mocha. Also, this is a bit too tall. You see those shorter round garbage cans with no wheels and that's what I really would like. Just a medium size, round, brown can with a brown lid. I swear you'd think you'd find in a a minute on line, but it really does not seem to exist. IT's bizarre!!! Thanks for the help though

For better or worse, I have plenty more to swear about than trash can design.
You need to search the industrial suppliers (and you need to be prepared to pay commercial prices):

It's funny that you mention brown garbage cans... I actually went through the same thing myself a few weeks ago. What I did was purchased the green ones, than primed and painted the indented sections brown (the same color as my stoop. I must say that they came out very well.

is available from time to time all over the city. It seems that the colors rotate over the years.
A couple of years ago all I could find in this model was the light blue. I wanted a green one for the recycling. I spent a summer looking. Finally at the end of the summer I spotted them across Montauk highway in Suffolk County.
The following summer the hardware store on the corner stocked the Green one. I've seen the same with the brown.
I tried one of the industrial supply companies located in Brooklyn and they wanted to tack on a huge delivery fee for common carrier due to the size - no pickup was allowed.
Good luck - I know the frustration. Guess you just need to pick up extras when you see them.

Ever heard of spray paint? Buy a metal can, sand it a little... and paint it any beautiful color you'd like. Why not hot pink. Can't find those at lowes either... but you can get hot pink paint.
Or maybe I'm missing something more complicated.

Thanks for the help people. The first one vinca posted is perfect just don't want the wheels. Seeing if it's simple to just get without or take them off. Yes, this is a life quest. I would never spray paint my metal cans; that would defy my sense of of something. It's complicated - I'm a bit neurotic. Thanks

You know what looks really awesome? When people build wood boxes with lids to enclose their garbage cans. Convenient, too, because the passerby cannot drop their trash in it.

If spray painting defies your sense of something... you could use some therapy... but other than that... you can buy a plain metal can and have it industrial powder coated. Of course, that would costs 5 times the price of the can.... but you can get any color you want.
