Brooklyn NY sweatshirts etc
I am making a trip to Ireland over Christmas and need to buy a bunch of gifts for adults and children whom I have never met. I was thinking it might be nice to get mostly everyone a Brooklyn NY sweatshirt. Can anyone recommend a good shop? Thanks

I'm guessing you're going to find quantities of sweatshirts, or even T-shirts, very pricey, but you might want to look at:
Brooklyn Botanic Garden Shop:

NYC Transit Museum Shop:

The Brooklyn visitor center, on the ground floor of Borough Hall, has relatively inexpensive Brooklyn tee shirts. I don't remember seeing sweat shirts, but it's worth checking. Unfortunately, there's no mention of ant merchandise on their website.

Whoops--that's "any" merchandise--I doubt that they carry "ant" merchandise--not even chocolate coated :-)

There's that shop Sport Prospect on 7th ave. & 11th St. in Park Slope that sells sporting goods and a bunch of Brooklyn tees and sweatshirts. I don't know if they give deals for quantity purchases, but they had some nice ones back when I lived in the neighborhood and bought many there for gifts for the folks back home! they also do lettering and stuff if you want to personalize the shirts!

Head to Fulton street -- around the nostrand avenue area. tons of brooklyn stuff --way cheaper than the suggestions listed above.

There is a shop on Smith between Pacific and Atlantic called "Iamo" (I believe). They have Brooklyn tshirts for every Bklyn neighborhood and some terrific tongue in cheek ones as well.

5th Av. between 12th & 18th Sts has vendors selling those things for $2.00 each ($10 for 5) Also, in Manhattan, Lex Av between 53rd & 56th - can't remember exactly but saw them last week - on the west side of the Av.

I agree with HomeSweetStuy - head over to Bstuy and one of the shop owners along Fulton/Nordstrand will be more than willing to negotiate with you. Don't spend a lot on sweatshirts in this economy. Remember you will probably have to pay for extra luggage.......
